Aged for 23 months in 50% new French oak. Bright ruby-red. Aromas of cassis, black cherry, menthol and cedary, chocolatey new oak. Juicy, youthfully medicinal flavors of black cherry, dark chocolate and fresh herbs show good concentration and definition. But firm-edged, slightly drying tannins will require a couple of years to harmonize with the wine’s fruit. A touch herbal on the back end but finishes with good persistence.
Bathed in structure, a refined, exquisite Cabernet built for drinking over the next decade. It is 100% Cabernet that comes from Conner Lee and Hedges Estate Vineyards. Offers a deep ruby color and a classic nose of blackberry, cherry, blueberry, and cassis with scents of black roses, tobacco, cedar, sandalwood and oriental incense. The flavors mirror the aromatics with fleshy, yet deep and structured, dark fruits that are endowed with licorice, bittersweet chocolate, and dusty earth and minerals. The concentration continues on the back with macerated berries, roasted walnuts, toasty oak (100% new French) and pencil lead, all leading seamlessly into a lingering sweet-dry tannin finish. 90 points, Wine Enthusiast - 19/20 points, Reveiw of Washington Wines - Silver, The TEXSOM International Wine Awards
