This wine is offering wonderful aromas of dark blackberry, cassis, hints of vanilla, and undertones of sweet caramel from the barrels. On the palate, the wine is bold upon entry, with characteristically robust tannins on the edges of the palate. The midpalate is full, providing depth and a strong foundation. The finish is long and lingering, and with a slight grip, as is typical for this vineyard.
This wine is offering fantastic primary aromas of rich, ripe red-berry fruit. I find undertones of sweet vanillin oak and hints of caramel. On the palate the wine is massive, with a wonderful core of fruit on the full mid-palate. The balance of the wine from front to back is impeccable, and the finish is long and carries the fruit beautifully.

“Our goal in crafting our Pinot Noirs is to capture the elusive Pinot character expressed in each of our exceptional coastal sites. We strive to produce elegant, harmonious wines which are impressive for their purity, balance, and lingering perfume. From these sites there is a progression of color and length of character as we move towards the coast.” – Steve Kistler

The 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes (90% Grenache and equal parts Mourvedre and Syrah) comes primarily from the famed sector of Chateauneuf du Pape known as La Crau. This is a beautiful wine that is more elegant than the regular Chateauneuf du Pape, with raspberry and kirsch liqueur notes, a deep ruby color, finesse, acidity, and ripe tannin. It seems to be a terroir-based statement of Chateauneuf du Pape that cuts a style midway between the traditionalists and the modernists. This wine will need several years of bottle age, and should drink nicely for 15 or more years. Introduced first in 2001, Michel Tardieu makes a traditional Chateauneuf du Pape from 100% Grenache and 100% stems. He believes the wine needs at least 5-7 years of bottle age and then is meant to last 25-30 years.93 Pts RP
The classic character of slowly but thoroughly ripened Cabernet family varieties show beautifully in a medley of black cherry and currant aromas. 17% Merlot provides a dollop of weight in the mid-palate while 80% Cabernet Sauvignon introduces a flood of fine mouth-coating tannin. The finish is lengthened by the 3% Petit Verdot to provide a long and soft finish of berry and espresso. This classic Cabernet-based blend will blow your mind in its youth and age gracefully for decades to come. (450 cases produced) 2013 96 pts Robert Parker
The Proprietary Red is at once elegant, rich, and powerful. Brilliant purple in color, aromas of wildflower, and rose oil deepen as the wine opens. Flavors of cassis, huckleberry, and tar are accented by notes of smoked meats and cardamom. Polished, fine-grained tannins are supple and silky. The multi-layered finish relaxes and evolves with time indicating age-worthiness.

From the newly minted Coombsville AVA Napa Valley, overlooked for many years, and unknown by many wine drinkers, the cooler area is considered one of the best in Napa for Cabernet Sauvignon, and has been called 'the future of Cabernet in Napa.' Impeccably balanced, superlative, definitive, harmonious, wonderful. Luscious raspberry, blueberry and cherry fruits laced with nuances of star anise, cedar and mocha lead into lovely caressing tannin in the mouth. Deepening complexities of violet floral, loam and mineral. The wine's components meld seamlessly in the deft oak-filled finish. A luxurious, alluring, pleasurable bottle of wine, it is the ultimate in caressing tannin in the mouth.
Deep ruby red in color, the wine has an intense nose of toffee and rich black cherry. Generous red and black fruit flavors with hints of mocha and pomegranate seamlessly transition into an expansive mid palate. This is a bold wine with a long-lasting finish.
"A spectacular effort from Brewer-Clifton, the young 2007 Pinot Noir Melville Vineyard appears to have barely budged since I first tasted it in 2009. Notes of cloves, cinnamon, blueberries, black raspberries and underbrush are followed by a full-bodied, impeccably well-balanced, pure wine with great texture as well as length. This amazing Pinot Noir (15% natural alcohol) should age gracefully for another 10-15 year

The 2018 Hudson is Carneros Chardonnay at its finest. Seductive aromas of lemon confit, stone fruit preserves, and almond croissant ascend from the glass, melding with notions of flinty crushed gravel, apple pie spice, and honeycomb. The palate is textured and full-bodied with layers of orchard fruit oils interlaced with a saline complexity and a bucolic note of sunbaked hay. Balanced and well-proportioned, enjoy this wine over the next 10 to 15 years. The wine has a slight haziness showing their commitment to minimal intervention winemaking. 97 Pt Robert Parker
